This place is okay, nothing overly impressive. Wait staff is fair, food is decent. We go a few times a year for variety, but are rarely too impressed. Mixed drinks are an average deal, beer isn't very cold. All you can eat appetizers looks good but with young kids can't ever make it out that late. All in all, they're decent but nothing to write home about.
I'm pretty sure my boneless chicken wings were frozen nuggets that were warmed up and dipped in sauce. Other than having a waitress bringing the food to me, I could have done this at home with a microwave. Nothing special. I always expect more from a place that specializes in food preparations but this chain doesn't get it.
They did a great job of handling a busy night on Christmasday. The cook did a great job on our food and our waitress was very attentive. They were super busy!
The hosts do not know what they are doing. There were many open tables and I had to ask to sit at a booth for 6 after waiting for over thirty minutes. Others were forgotten and new customers were sat before those who had been waiting for awhile. Hosts are the first thing people see when they come to a restaurant and these two did not know what they were doing at all.
I love Applebees and this location is friendly and helpful and the restaurant is clean and inviting, though noisy. I love the 2 for $20 menu. This is where we go most often for any family celebration because everyone has a favorite here so we all go away happy. The staff is also great with the kids.
