Easy peasy car rental. Show up, they quote you the exact price you made on your reservation. No monkey business like at Avis where they try to sneak in all kinds of upgrade fees. Just good, honest business.
The folks in Gladstone are very nice and courteous. They even let me borrow some eclipse glasses to take a peek at the eclipse! Only downside about this location is it closes at 6, but that's understandable since it's not an airport location.
The car was fine expect for the cigar smell and when the car sat in the heat all day, and you opened the door for the first time you really could smell it. The car also had really large blind spots as well. Not a car I would have recommended nor have put back out on the road, but it was a car and that was what I needed.
The cars they had to offer , what I felt, were below Enterprise standards. The first vehicle they tried to give me had a worn out floor board, along with too many dents and scratches to list. The second one also had quite a bit of damage, some type of overspray paint over the hood. It also made loud sounds when you drove it. I often use Enterprise for my rentals and have always had quality vehicles, no matter what category I have rented.
So you know that stress of doing the walk around of the car trying to find every little dent and scratch since if you don't point them out there is the fear that they will charge you for them when you return the vehicle? Enterprise's new rule is that they only care about dents bigger than a golf ball and scratches longer than a dollar. FINALLY! Thank you Enterprise for being human.
My biggest challenge was with the dealing with the customer service. I understand that folks get busy but when you are bumped off of the phone three times because you have been on hold for that long waiting for someone to pick up the phone -- you need more than just something, you need an extra body. especially when it happens not happens first thing at opening as well as just before closing and folks are trying to get those last minute cars for the weekend. Hire someone please.
Everything was great until we dropped it off and one of the employees immediately accused my wife and I of denting and damaging the rental. He was very rude to us and treated us with disrespect. Luckily the manager came out and confirmed that the dents were there before we rented the van. We took very good care of it and left it with more gas than they gave us to begin with. I would highly recommend finding a different rental place . The manager was a good guy though . They just need to hire some better employees.
